FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
San Francisco, CA (September 19, 2019) — Newchip, one of the top investment platforms in the world, has a track record of helping companies get funded with over $20M+ in investments into its companies in 2018 alone. This week, they accepted The Center for Higher Education Leadership (CHEL): an online portal for professional development for higher education leaders, into their online accelerator.
“We are very excited to have The Center for Higher Education Leadership join the NEWCHIP family,” remarked Ryan Rafols, Founder & CEO of Newchip. “The team impressed us from the start—we are eager to see how they take CHEL to the next level. They have a unique perspective on their market and what they’ve built so far shows great promise.”
Launched in early 2019 by co-founders Terri Givens and Shelley Seale, The Center for Higher Education Leadership creates more cost-effective access to professional development, helping higher education administrators become empowered leaders by providing a seamless solution to help them improve their management skills. Givens and Seale are solving problems for higher ed administrators, drawing from Givens’ experience as a Vice Provost at the University of Texas at Austin, and Provost at Menlo College.
“Higher education is in crisis, and university faculty often go into administrative positions without an understanding of the complexities of running a university in today’s high-stress environment. Higher education leaders need to be ready to deal with changing demographics, financial challenges and the need to be innovative,” Givens said. “The Center for Higher Education is making it much easier for faculty and administrators to have access to the tools they need to succeed.”
The Center for Higher Education Leadership’s platform is being utilized by several high-profile universities and university systems. “We think the future is moving towards affordable and easily accessible online professional development” Seale added.
The company has received angel funding from well-placed investors in Austin, Texas and the co-founders are working towards their next round of funding as they solidify their subscription base and attract advertising sponsors.
